Custom Fields

Custom Fields allow you to create and manage data entry fields to capture additional information specific to your business needs. These fields can be used to store data not covered by default fields, enabling more tailored item tracking and reporting. Once created, these fields can be included in forms, views, and exports, providing flexibility in how you collect and utilize data.

Ideal for businesses that need to track additional attributes like internal notes, supplier references, or quality control metrics. Custom fields enhance data points and support more comprehensive reporting and analysis.

Custom Fields can only be created using the web platform.

Types of Custom Fields

Field	Description
Short Text	Alpha-numeric data entry for up to ___ characters
Long Text	Alpha-numeric data entry for up to ___ characters
Single Select Dropdown	Dropdown menu which allows the user to select one option.
Multi Select Dropdown	Dropdown menu which allows the user to select multiple options.
Decimal	Decimal format field example: 100.12
Currency	Currency formatted field example $100.12
Option Button Select	A row of buttons which the user can select one option

Creating Custom Fields

At this time, Custom Fields must be created on the Web Platform.

Navigate to General Settings > Custom Fields

1. Select the Add Custom Field button

2. Creating a Short Text, Long Text, Decimal, or Currency Fields are all done the same way. The creation screen will look like this 

Give the field a name and select a Field Type

3. Single Select, Multi Select, and Option Button fields require you to add options, by clicking the 'Add Option Button'. Each option added, will be presented to the user.

View Settings - Add Custom Fields to Workflow

When a Custom Field is created, it will show in the General Settings > View Settings with the prefix "Custom Field".  Custom Fields can be added to each of the Screens (which can be toggled at the top)
